Thousands of wreath-layers carry out Arlington tradition

Pfc. De'Angello Robinson, 19, traveled seven hours by bus to place a wreath on the tombstone of a soldier he didn't know.

For Robinson and other Marines who came from Camp Johnson, N.C., to Arlington National Cemetery to decorate graves, the day was about paying tribute to the men and women who served.

500 Mile March for PTSD Will Happen in Spring

The March from Oregon to California will take place after winter thaws.

(SALEM, Ore.) - The date for our planned 500-Mile March for PTSD has been moved to Spring. We had originally intended to conduct the march in September, but the extension will allow us to be fully prepared and not operating in haste.

HOPE4HEROES 2009 NATIONAL VETERANS AND FAMILIES SUMMIT FINAL REPORT

As we approach 2010, our nation faces many issues, such as national health care reform, economic issues, growing national debt, record-level unemployment and a need for a national infrastructure overhaul. An additional issue that currently receives less attention is that of our veterans and their family members.

There are 27 million veterans located throughout the United States with over one million being discharged while performing duty for Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom (OIF/OEF). Our nation’s veterans face many challenges while providing an unprecedented opportunity for America.
